Medical Privacy on Public Messaging Networks

Patients expect instantaneous lab test results delivered straight to their mobile phones. However, sending unencrypted diagnostic PDFs directly into chat channels introduces serious medical compliance and privacy liabilities.

The Tokenized Secure Link Architecture

Instead of dispatching raw medical PDFs over the messaging pipe, our healthcare systems architecture uses tokenized temporary access links:

  1. Encrypted S3 Storage: Diagnostic reports uploaded by pathology labs are stored using AES-256 server-side encryption.
  2. Time-Limited Signed URLs: The WhatsApp message contains a branded button linking to a secure, password-protected portal expiring in 24 hours.
  3. Two-Factor Phone Verification: The patient must enter their registered date of birth or a one-time SMS/WhatsApp PIN before the PDF decrypts for viewing.
